The third generation iPod Shuffle is the cheapest, lightest and most compact iPod from Apple which makes it an ideal companion for your workouts.
Apple has managed to strip the Shuffle of all buttons and controls with the exception of the on/off button which makes the unit amazingly small. Transport controls are located on the right ear piece cord with three multi-function buttons.
What makes the latest incarnation of the Shuffle so special is that it talks. VoiceOver tells you the name of a song and the artist. It also announces the name of your playlists.
When attached to your gym clothing or cycling bibs with the integrated clip you will hardly notice it on you. Operating the unit is simple and easy without needing to look at the controls allowing you to focus on your activity.
Dimensions are a compact H:45.2mm x W:17.5mm x D:7.8mm weighing in at a measly 10.7 grams. The in-built battery provide approximately 10 hours of playback time when fully charged.
As with all Apple iPods and iPhones the Shuffles connects and integrates with Apple iTunes. Available is a 2GB or 4GB version, the iPod shuffle holds up to 1,000 songs and can be purchased in a range of colours.
The iPod Shuffle retails for AU$79 for the 2GB and AU$109 for the 4GB and will be a welcome addition to your gym or workout kit.
