Wearing hats and caps is not a thing that I personally enjoy doing, although my day job has me wearing one whenever I go outside. I would never normally wear a cap when riding or when off the bike.
Recently I was sent a delightful handmade cycling cap from Rocket Fuel – Vintage Cycling Style, not only did it look great, it matched my Orbea bike – pink & white.

The handmade caps are made from cotton, wool, or leather. Rocket Fuel also has winter caps for those cold days when your ears need to be snuggly warm.
I have worn the cap a couple of times, not only on the bike but also when I’ve been outside and the weather has been hot. Obviously I have the luck of living in Queensland, so that is most of the time (sorry for those readers currently going through winter).
The cap fitted really well and I didn’t find myself having an indent along my forehead like I normally get when wearing hats, one of the reasons I hate wearing them. The caps visor is made so if you like you can flip it up. At no time did I feel uncomfortable wearing the cap, and actually forgot I had it on when wearing it under my bike helmet.
Must say that this cap is a new favourite of mine and I’m sure I will be wearing it many more times in the future. I am also looking at purchasing a few of the caps for presents for friends.

I have always been interested in Rocket Fuel caps but living in the UK have never had the opportunity to actually see them for myself. It looks like Australia has its own little cycling secret going on. Thanks for the review its really good. I love the fact that they are all one-offs and would love to get one myself. From the look of things Rocket Fuel don’t fall into the category that many custom cap makers do and that is of making caps that look nothing like cycling caps. They look really good and their shape looks perfect. Do they make men’s styles and colours too?

What can i say but Susan makes the best cycling hats ever i have one of her winter caps and this winter it was a must under the helmet kept my ears warm and i was amazed with the quality of her hat she made i cant recommend her enough.
So if you are a cycle club or a cycle clothing shop you cant go wrong if you stock or purchase some rocket fuel style hats.
